First, it was Tyra Banks in her oh-so comedic Harper's Bazaar spread as aspiring First Lady Michelle Obama.Now it's R&B singer Alicia Keys' turn to dress up like our new first lady in the 70th anniversary issue of Glamour magazine's American Icons photo spread.

At left, Keys poses as First Lady Michelle Obama, standing on white steps, holding the hands of two young girls who vaguely resemble Sasha and Malia. There's even a White House pooch, that looks like it could be a Poodle mix or a Portuguese Water Dog.

Keys wears a blue Carolina Herrera dress, a black Michael Kors belt, a Miriam Haskell necklace and black Christian Louboutin shoes.Alicia says of Obama: “She has worked hard for everything she's accomplished, and done so with grace and humility. So many women and girls can identify with her story,”

OK, what is the deal with celebrities posing as first ladies these days. Make it stop! Did they do this with Hillary Clinton, Barbara or Laura Bush or Nancy Reagan? I don't think so. Do you remember? Would Marilyn Monroe have dressed up like Jackie Kennedy for Life magazine in the '60s? Would never happen.

Anyway, also in the issue: Camilla Belle poses as Mary Tyler Moore, Emma Stone as "Sex and the City" character Carrie Bradshaw (or is it Sarah Jessica Parker?), Emma Roberts as Audrey Hepburn, Alexis Bledel as Rosie the Riveter, Hayden Panettiere as Amelia Earhart. Even non-star Rumer Willis made it in as one of women of Woodstock?Washed up starlet Lindsay Lohan -- desperately seeking relevance -- also poses as Madonna, right, the young Queen of Reinvention, circa '80s.

Just think, in a few short years, LiLo will be able to pass as a '90s cougar Madonna with her baby Jesus. What do you think of Alicia and Lindsay's Halloween costumes?

Is it amusing?Or is it insulting to the real American icons to have these celebrities dress up as the women who have really accomplished things in their lives?
