Lindsay Lohan's mother Dina is shooting down reports that she's a pushy stage mom, insisting her daughter wanted to pursue a career in entertainment at a young age.
Lindsay, 21, landed her first film role in 1998's The Parent Trap, when she was 11, and enrolled at a talent agency at the age of 3. And now, Lindsay's younger sister Ali, 14, is starring with Dina in a reality show which shows Ali trying to break into the music business.
Dina has been heavily criticized as a pushy stage mom after Lindsay was arrested twice in 2007 for drunk driving and cocaine possession. Her late-night partying and wacky behavior also reportedly got her fired off a movie being made about convicted mass murderer Charles Manson.
But Dina says she's merely helping her talented daughters pursue their dreams not pushing them into show biz. "I have pushy kids," she told Britain's OK! magazine. "My girls are talented. I can't say, 'You're going to get hurt so you can't proceed with your dream.'That wouldn't be fair."
