Is Lindsay Lohan next? After Amy Winehouse died Saturday, there was a natural outpouring of grief, especially by those who knew her well. Although the cause of death is still being investigated, her addictions to drugs and alcohol lead most to suspect either as the cause.

Russel Brand, in particular, wrote a lengthy, heartfelt piece on his blog railing against addiction and his own powerlessness to help Amy when he could have done so. His conclusion? Helping addicts, famous or not, should be a high priority for all of society. It remains to be seen if he'll be true to the sentiment.
But some news outlets have already jumped on the early intervention bandwagon by speculating, quite grimly, that Lindsay Lohan may be the next star to go join the infamous "27 Club" if she doesn't change her ways—immediately. It's a startling lesson in tough love.
On an E! blog, called The Awful Truth, columnist Ted Casablanca fields a question from a reader wondering if Amy's death would have a sobering impact on other notorious celebrity party animals, particularly Lindsay Lohan:
Ouch! The tone has certainly changed, seemingly overnight. What once was breathless reporting on Lohan's demons, with plenty of sly nodding and winking, has turned into some serious butt-kicking language. Hopefully Lindsay is a fan...
And, on a gossip site called The Blemish, Lindsay Lohan gets some more comeuppance, even if the writer doesn't seem to have all the facts straight. The unnamed reporter rails against Lindsay for getting bombed in Hollywood on Friday night. Maybe they're down under over there, but the language hits the mark as some unidentified "eyewitness" tattles:
Maybe the details are off a bit, but the message is clear: At some point, even if you're the biggest star in the world, everybody gets fed up and splits. Hopefully, there's still time for Lindsay Lohan to straighten up and enjoy the gifts of celebrity before it's too late.
