Actress Lindsay Lohan, a self-described drug and alcohol addict and a rehab regular, celebrated her 25th birthday with family members in Southern California on Saturday.
In an interview with the New York Daily News, father Michael Lohan said his hard partying daughter chose not to celebrate in her home state of New York because of court-imposed community service recquirements.
“She opted to stay in California instead of coming to New York because she has community service and wanted to concentrate on that,” Michael Lohan said of Lindsay, who was recently released from the house arrest to which she was sentenced for stealing a $2,500 necklace.
According to Papa Lohan, LiLo is in a good place at the moment. “She’s doing really, really, really well,” Michael Lohan told the Daily News of his daughter, who was initially given 120 days in county jail but was instead granted home detention because she was a nonviolent offender in an overcrowded jail system.
The “Herbie: Fully Loaded” actress and former redhead was liberated of her monitoring bracelet Wednesday, and headed to a Hollywood club to revel in her new freedom. After a night on the town, Lindsay Lohan went to a Los Angeles women’s shelter, where she must fulfill 360 hours of community service as part of her punishment.
Last week, LiLo got political, writing about her frustrations with the Federal Reserve on Twitter, “Have you guys seen food and gas prices lately? U.S. $ will soon be worthless if the Fed keeps printing money! … #ad.” Lohan also linked to the National Inflation Association’s website. When a fellow Twitter user expressed doubt that Lohan was concerned about excessive gas and food prices, the actress replied that she was indeed worried about the rising prices. “i actually do care about gas and food prices, so whether it’s an #ad or no, it’s important for people to be aware of it,” Lohan responded.
