Los Angeles, CA – Things haven’t been so good for Lindsay Lohan in recent years. Earlier in her career there was nothing but potential for the young star. Her roles in movies such as ‘The Parent Trap’, ‘Freaky Friday’ and a star making performance in ‘Mean Girls’ led many to believe that she was going to be the next Julia Roberts or Sandra Bullock. With critical acclaim and box office success still flowing, so too did the booze and drugs, the latter of which became instantly more appealing to young star which has now become her entire public persona.
Criminal charges, car accidents, high profile lesbian affairs, feuds with family members and all manner of personal drama have now overtaken Lohan, becoming just about the only thing anyone knows about her anymore. Even the thing that led her here, her incredible talent, seems to have eroded with pitiful performances in even worse movies now the standard. Despite that decline, a story all too common in Hollywood, there has been room for hope. Her bad behaviour has brought the attention of the law which has restricted her actions and now it appears has finally gotten the message through to Lohan herself. Fresh off a trip to the Cannes film festival, Lohan appears to be sporting a new attitude with a new movie on the way, a new tattoo, and a fresh fashion accessory that may take America by storm.
“The SCRAM bracelet is a device that has become more and more common in case of this type. Essentially it monitors certain behaviours, whether movement or in this case the level of alcohol in sweat, and automatically reports that to a monitoring station,” said a court spokesperson. “Ms. Lohan will be forced to wear this bracelet, really an anklet to be strictly correct, in order to monitor her drinking which has been getting worse recently. This is just one of the many procedures that Ms. Lohan needs to follow in order to not only keep herself out of prison, but to also to put her back on the right track to being a responsible person."The SCRAM bracelet, which Lohan sported in 2007, has being radically redesigned making it more likely that it may take off amongst the celebrity elite.
“SCRAM bracelets have really been a kind of underground thing for a long time but only now are they starting to take off in the celebrity realm. In Texas in particular the anklets have been worn for years and in fact are one of the most popular accessories in the state. I’m sure it will be like other fashion trends now that a major star has started to wear one,” said Scrape TV Fashion analyst Fiona Dollak. “Of course Lindsay has been having some trouble recently but she is still a beautiful girl and there will most certainly be many young women out there who will follow everything she does so having her wear this could mean disaster or it could mean magic. We won’t know until it happens.”The manufacturer of the bracelet Alcohol Monitoring Systems, Inc. has reportedly been focussing a great deal of attention on the Hollywood community in recent years, to limited success.
“I imagine that it won’t be long until we start to see these on runways and from there on the street. Every teen will be wearing one of these before the year is out, mark my words, and before long they will be more popular than even Facebook,” continued Dollak. “For Lohan too this could be a great opportunity to refresh her image. Seeing her in commercials for the devices could help to rejuvenate interest and put her back on the map. I’m holding off on getting one myself, but I probably won’t be able to resist for long.”
Reportedly the makers had secured a deal for the devices to appear in the upcoming ‘Sex and the City 2’ but the deal fell apart at the last minute. Lohan’s device is apparently still registering her as alive.
